Southside Seagulls

The Southside Seagulls are the 5th team of the BBWL and first team in the expansion era. Led by Captain Josh “Juice” Shanes, the Seagulls have been the perennial wild card team for the last few seasons. Behind Shanes is budding superstar Asher Gevisser, rookie Adam Faskowitz, veteran presence Sam Litrenta and sneaky power threat, Justin Swan.

JOSH “JUICE” SHANES

The all-time leader in walks (pitching) and crash-outs (because of his pitching), Josh “Juice” Shanes started his career with the Downtown Divers before bribing the board to captain his own team. What he lacks in strike throwing abilities he makes up in si(ze)ghs (he is very tall and he breathes loud). Off the field you can catch him at the movies.

ASHER “ASH” GEVISSER

Asher “Ash” Gevisser joined the league late in Season 6. He did not qualify for award voting and thus is an eligible candidate for Rookie of the Year in Season 7. Never mind that, Gevisser is on the ballot for MVP Season 7. Good luck standing in the box when he’s on the mound.

ADAM “FASK” FASKOWITZ

A rookie in Season 7, Adam “Fask” Faskowitz is still getting his footing in the league (as most rookies are). We have full faith he’ll figure it out as he has a fierce competitiveness and a love of baseball. Marry those two together and I see a future star in the BBWL.

SAM “SLAMALAM” LITRENTA

A veteran in the BBWL, Sam “Slamalam” Litrenta has played all 7 seasons. When he gets a hold of one, he sends it a long way. Not to worry, put him on the mound and he’ll double it and give it to the next person. Sam picked up his first win in BBWL history in Season 7.

JUSTIN “J-SCHMONEY” SWAN

Some of you may know Swan from his endeavors as a frisbee golf/frolf/disc golf enthusiast. Others may know him because he’s engaged to his captain’s younger sister. Congrats to the happy couple!
