How Does The Tournament Work?

How many teams and games will there be?

1

There are 6 teams playing in this tournament and there are two fields with games playing simultaneously. This tournament is set up where each team will play 2 guaranteed games in pool play. From there, the bottom 2 teams will be eliminated (if there is a tie, run differential is the tie breaker). The remaining 4 teams will each play a semifinal game followed by the tournament championship.

Is this tournament free?

2

Because this is a cash prize tournament, there is an entry fee of $50 per team of 3-5 players or $15 for individuals registering solo. The prize money will come from the pool of cash and be allocated to the top 2 teams.

Throughout the year, Bay Bros Wiffle puts on free events on Mission Bay. Make sure to follow Bay Bros Wiffle on Instagram to get updated about those events!

How many players can I have on my team?

3

The games are played with 3 players in the field while on defense. One pitcher, one left fielder and one right fielder. Each team’s lineup can be up to 5 players on offense. If a team has a 5 player lineup, the remaining two players not in the field will be on the bench cheering on their friends!

If your team only has 3 players, anticipate potentially having a 4th added to your roster.

How long are games?

4

Each game is 3 innings. If the game is tied after 3 innings, we will move straight to a swing off (swing off rules will be explained in person if needed)!

Each game lasts an average of 35-45 minutes. We are planning on 5-10 minute breaks between games for restroom and snack breaks. We expect the tournament to run from 8am to 2pm!
